Abstract:Based on Eco-translatology,translation is considered as an ecosystem.Eco-factors in the translation-related interaction keep a balance.Eco-translatology stresses on the translator-centered process and adaptive selection by translators.English major in application-oriented universities is the key output of qualified translators, but it fails to construct the translation programme in an ecologically balanced, associated, holistic way.The paper reveals that translation talents are required to be eligible for the three-eco-dimensions of theory, skill and quality in translation, which is also the framework of cultivating translation talents among English major.Based on practices,an ecological mode of translation programme of English major has been proposed. It is conductive to teaching quality of translation programme;it also can enhance the translator-based selectivity and adaptability in translation ecosystem, and eventually improve the adaptive level of translators.
