Abstract:Currently,teaching approaches in academic English writing class in China are still under exploration due to no a widely-accepted conclusion.With the target of academic English literacy development,the present study adapts the teaching-learning cycle of Sydney School to domestic academic English writing class,and conducts with a new teaching approach-the open teaching cycle,which includes five phases:joint material selection,joint deconstruction of text,joint construction of text,independent construction of text,and feedback.The present study aims to approach academic English writing teaching from a new perspective.
