| Based on first-hand examples in the English press, this paper probes into the style of science news in terms of choice of words, treatment of figures, grammatical device and the like. Science news, a linguistic integration of news reporting and technical writing, which facilitates the rapid spread of science information to the broader reading public via the mass media, serves as an important channel for people of today’s world to know the latest scientific development. Hence, the science stories have turned into popular sections or regular editions in English press. |
