As a bilingual and bicultural activity, translating is also defined to be a process of aesthetic appreciation. Its artistic value can be realized by aesthetic viewpoint. The aesthetic value of literary translation lies in the reading and understanding process of translators and receptors, in which aesthetic appeal and aesthetic beauty are produced. Chinese classical literary works bear great aesthetic meaning due to its culture-loaded factors, special aesthetic function and unique linguistic art. This paper is mainly focused on analyzing and comparing the translations of Outlaws of the Marsh, so as to find out whether the translated versions can give the same aesthetic value and appeal as the original version.
