There is no pragmatic translation studies as a branch in the Holmes’ map. But the author argues that pragmatic translation studies parallel to literary one is an important component of translation studies as a discipline. Both of them form the special translation studies. He puts forward and explains the following six basic categories of pragmatic translation studies: theoretical study, strategic study, technical study, typology, terms and terminological bank, and translation localization and globalization.
