Based on the English translation of The Twelfth “Five-year” Plan of National Economy and Social Development of Shanghai Municipality (2011—2015), the paper deals with different rendering methods adopted according to various features of the original text in the translating process, with focus on the rendering of the nouns with Chinese characteristics, of paralleled words, sentences and patterns and of other sorts of peculiar words and expressions.
