Abstract:Translation, as human arts as well as a means of daily communication, justifies the study of its efficiency and innate know?how. Study shows that quite a lot of corresponding elements, which may or may not be in different word?orders, exist across English and Chinese while the two languages are being translated. Thus much of the translation work is the word?order rearrangement. In the word?order rearrangement, the principle of “near?by first” is found and should be observed.
