This author begins with a brief summary of the prior study on the origins of linguistic fuzziness, and discusses the defects of classical categorization theory in the application of linguistic categorization; and then he suggests that grammatical categories are fuzzy in light of Rosch’s Prototype Theory and Taylor’s grammar categorization; finally based upon Wittgenstein’s “language games” theory, the author analyses the philosophical motivations of the grammatical fuzziness.
