Based on narrative theories of structuralism, this paper analyzes Henry James’s novel Madame De Mauves from two aspects, narrative perspective and narrative time, in an attempt to explore his preliminary writing style of his early work. This study finds that the use of “center of consciousness” and “anachrony” makes the novel more attractive and unique.
