Abstract:E.T.A. Hoffmann was the famous German writer of the late romantic period. This article makes a thorough studies of his Prinzessin Brambilla from the narrative viewpoint, and reveals that under the multithreading scenarios of reality and fantasy there are German culture traits of the romantic period, such as social turbulence, psychological split as well as the philosophy exploration and the function and representation of the literature aesthetics that have resulted from the development of science and technology and industrialization.
