The paper summarizes the design and implementation of a materials science and engineering (MSE) core course cluster taught in English at University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST). The pedagogical features of this course cluster are outlined. Steps to be taken aiming at a sustainable development of such a unique course cluster are also discussed, with the emphasis on the teaching team building.
