Based on Northrop Frye’s theory of archetypal criticism,this paper takes the character,plot and theme prototype in the Bible as reference and makes a comparative analysis on archetypes of characters,plots and themes between the Bible story and the American Afghanistan writer Khaled Hossseini’s masterpiece The Kite Runner to explore the theme of loyalty,betrayal and salvation and the everlasting charm and profound significance of the novel as well.
