Spiritual ecological studies mainly concern the inner spiritual balance of human beings,and probe into the social and cultural factors which cause the imbalance of spiritual ecology.In her The bluest eye,Sula,Beloved, Toni Morrison shapes a series of tragic characters of American black people.When confronting white-dominant culture,the black characters in The bluest eye belittle themselves and abandon Negritude,which causes harm to Pecola.Sula discards Negritude and shows contempt to black traditions,which bring about disasters to the black community.Sethe kills her own daughter and Eva murders his son,both of which result from twisted maternal love.All the above tragedies reflect spiritual crisis of the American black people.
