Abstract:In 2011,the English version of Brush Talks from Dream Brook(Meng Xi Bi Tan),translated by Professor,Wang Hong,was published by Paths International Ltd.in Britain,which is a great breakthrough Chinese translators have made in Chinese classics translation.Brush Talks from Dream Brook belongs to compound text type.Drawing references from translation typology put forward by Katharina Reiss and from the theory of the basic types in translation process put forward by Christiane Nord,the author of the present paper analyzes the translation strategies of different text types in Brush Talks from Dream Brook through examples,and points out that in Chinese technical classics translation,laying down different translation strategies for different text types and different jottings is necessary and applicable.
