Although Feng Zikai is a well-known cartoonist and prose writer,he made great achievements in literary translation.Feng Zikai translated over thirty art and literary works from Japanese,English,Russian and other languages,and made great contributions to the popularity of art education in China and the cultural exchanges with the outside world,especially with Japan.This paper summarizes Feng Zikai's translation practice,discusses his translation views:faithfulness to,but never word-for-word equivalence to the original;smooth reproduction in the target language.The present article elaborates his contributions to and his position in the literary translation in China.
