The history of legal translation in China can be traced back to Qing dynasty and has gone through three stages:the embryonic stage,the slow-progress stage and the flourishing stage.With a review of the history of domestic legal translation,this paper analyzes the status quo of research on legal translation in China.This paper,based on a survey of the research articles on legal translation published in domestic FL journals over the past twelve years(2000-2011),sums up the features of domestic research on legal translation,reviews the achievements made in this research field,points out the major problems existing in the contemporary research.In order to further promote the development of legal translation research,the tendency towards future research is also predicted.
