A large amount of EST teaching materials have been currently published in China.Generally, these materials are organized based on the framework of professional knowledge.Therefore, students often take it for granted that EST courses are knowledge-oriented.However, the author thinks that an introduction of corpora can be an effective supplement to EST teaching materials and contribute to student-centerd activities in classroom.A case study based on EST(Aeronautics) corpus explores the application of corpora in EST vocabulary and grammar pedagogy.It concludes that EST corpora can indeed help students to focus more on language itself.Moreover, prospects and challenges of applying corpora in EST teaching are discussed in this paper.
