While different translation theories probe into the translation standard of“faithfulness“from different perspectives, they cannot reach agreement on this issue.This article suggests studying the translation standard in terms of cognitive linguistics, which can solve the problem in a much reasonable way, and then proposes to incorporate the translation standard into the Prototype Theory, in which the various translation standards stand side by side, pointing to the prototype of translation standard, that is, faithfulness.The variety of translation standards derives from the idealized cognitive models(ICMs)behind them, on the basis of which the establishment of the translation standard can be realized.
