In the upsurge of promoting Chinese traditional culture and introducing classical Chinese works to foreign countries,A Selection of Classical Chinese Essays from Guwen Guanzhi translated by Mr.Luo Jingguo,a senior professor of Beijing University,appears before the readers with its unusual quality.As there are few English versions of classical Chinese prose today,Professor Luo's book of English translation is especially precious.This paper,from the perspective of faithfulness,expressiveness,elegance and beauty,is intended to make a brief comment on the book,which leads to the conclusion that Professor Luo's English version is a superb one and the book may be regarded as a gem in English translation of classical Chinese prose.
