Prosodic structure serves as a bridge to the study of phonology and syntax. The study of prosodic structure can not only offer the theoretical approaches to explain the phonological features of its structure,but also provide theoretical directions to the speech synthesis,speech recognition,even prosodic modeling and speech engineering. This paper reviews the present research situation of prosodic structures,especially the Chinese prosodic structures,and explores the possible research contents and directions of future study so as to clear the way for its future development.
