This paper explores the textual structure of Henry James's The Tragic Muse by employing Northrop Frye's theory of methology evolution.We find that the development of the plot conincides with the process of monomyth evolution.The perfect combination of methology and aestheticism is James's new step on the exploration of astheticism,which is also his new contribution to the literary creation.
