Abstract:From aesthetic perspective of translation studies, and based on practices of Chinese-English translation, this paper aims to probe into aesthetic optimization of Chinese-English translation of expressive-texts.The writer comes up with the idea that during the translation process, the translator must appropriately choose the most suitable form to attain three-level aesthetic optimization(beauty of form, beauty of sound, and beauty of image),together with the most suitable category on each corresponding level, choosing from the three methods of aesthetic optimization(equivalence shift, level shift, and category shift) in order to achieve aesthetic effects including complete effect, functional effect, and compensational effect, and maximize the aesthetic appeal of the original text.
