Implicit conflict talk(ICT)refers to the kind of conflict talk which occurs under the condition that the two parties in interaction attempt to achieve,in an implicit way,their communicative goals that are in conflict with each other.With examples from films,plays and literary works,this paper illustrates the developmental model of ICT.It is discovered that ICT develops in two directions:one is to terminate with goal achievement,goal conceding,goal cancellation or goal shelving;the other is to evolve into explicit conflict talk or indirect conflict talk.
