As an important variation of English language,Australian English has its own special features.Its lexical items are the sensitive and most active elements among the components of language,with an inherent adhesion to social and cultural traits.Due to the unique geographical,historical environments and humorous nature of Australians,some lexical items of Aussie English are tainted with the features that Australian landscape and society have,that is,well-meant endowment of lexical items with proper noun,humorousness of false and bantering words and phrases,adhesiveness of the derivatives and uniqueness of idioms.The paper investigates the process of linguistic variation that is closely related to the natural and social environments.
