Abstract:In The Final Passage and A State of Independence which differ greatly in titles,genders and contents,Caryl Phillips present them as serial stories sharing some circulation characteristics in home writing.From Diaspora perspective,Phillips focuses on the two migration routes.As to “country emigrated”,the sequence is “abandon-return-abandon”.As to “country immigrated”,the sequence is“return-abandon-return”.At the same time,these two novels also reflect characteristics of England colonial system and the social status of Caribbean Diaspora groups in English dominant history.
