Generally regarded as a reaction against the mechanical philosophy and mechanical psychology in the 18^thcentury,Coleridge's organic aesthetics was also treated as a result of the reaction of biology against physical mechanics in this paper.Deeply influenced by biology,Coleridge could not observe the differences between art creation and biological growth,which foreboded the shortcomings of his literary theory.
