Conceptual metaphor is the cognitive mechanism of thinking, and cognitive reference point(CRP) is a fundamental cognition model.The research reveals that the mapping between source domain and target domain of the conceptual metaphor is corresponding to the process in which the conceptualizer finds the CRP to construe the target.At the discourse level, the CRP models of different types of conceptual metaphor will vary.In addition to construing the target by a single CRP, several source domains as CRPs are involved to jointly explain the target entity or to interpret the corresponding target respectively.CRP models need some repairs if the textual structure and content change.
