The course "New College English:Watch, Listen and Read" creatively integrates the training of watching, listening speaking skills together with that of reading skills.It embodies the latest research findings in the contemporary foreign language education in terms of material selecting, exercise design and typographical design.In this present research, 228 non-English majors of Grade One and Grade Two in Anhui Normal University are interviewed and surveyed by questionnaires.Based on the theory of multimodal discourse analysis, the author analyzes the teaching effect of New College English:Watch, listen and Read with SPSS 15.0.It is concluded that the new teaching mode has many advantages over the traditional teaching mode of watching, listening and speaking.Meanwhile, some deficiencies are discussed and suggestions are put forward.
