The sociology in Ecclesiastical Universities had played a very important role in the history of Chinese sociology.This paper focuses on the achievements of teachers and graduates from the department of sociology, University of Shanghai.The department of sociology was established in February 1914, it was the first one in China.The department was headed by Daniel H.Kulp II, J.Hundley Wiley, Zhang-Chunjiang, Lei-Jieqiong, in succession for more than 30 years.The Yangtzepoo Social Center was the practice base of the University of Shanghai.The department had outstanding academic characteristics and achievements.The mode of running university as an integration of teaching, research and service.Lay emphasis on the advanced social survey.It not only had the great valuable academic achievements, but also pioneered social work in the history of China.
