Abstract:As a spiritual foundation of the Chinese traditional culture,The Analects contains abundant ecological philosophy.Inter-lingual translation is of great importance for the transmission and development of classics.When ecology attracts great attention in the world,eco-translatology emerges as required.The three-dimensional transformation is the focus of eco-translatology.This paper attempts to probe into James Legge and Ku Hung-ming's English translations of The Analects through three dimensions of language,culture and communication.By analyzing and comparing the two translators' life experience and academic background,sinology capability as well as the translation purposes,we may conclude that they adopt different translation strategies in different ecological environment.
