Data Driven Learning(DDL) is a corpus-based learning method,which can help students,under the guidance of the teacher,to carry out autonomous learning on the English collocation and grammar.The author illustrates the theoretical basis and characteristics of DDL,designs and implements a classroom experiment in which the subjects from part of non-English major freshmen(Grade 2014)studying College English Band 1 adopt the method of autonomous learning with the help of online corpora.The results of the experiment show that Data Driven Learning may have significantly raised the students' scores in English composition.
