The core value education for university students is considered as the top priority for citizen education in every country,and its purpose is to cultivate a common sense of values among the citizens.China and the US have different social systems,and they both have some distinct objectives,contents and methods for core value education.There is no doubt that the contrastive study will contribute to core value education in universities of China because only when the existing problems and challenges in both systems are better understood,the core value education in Chinese universities could be promoted.
