Based on the author's translation practice, this paper reviews the past of translation practice in Shanghai Science and Technology Translation Society (hereafter referred to as SSTTS) from 1985 to 2017. By means of the main features of ESP and treating of the possibility of expanding the space of ESP in the foreseeable future, the paper has explored the interactive relation between the changes of translation practice and the situation of ESP translation studies, so as to unravel the evolving process of ESP translation study as well as the establishment of enterprises, universities and societies of the tripartite cooperation mechanism to further create a teaching atmosphere of ESP in the universities.
