Abstract:Both Eugene A. Nida and Mildred L. Larson have suggested their information transmission modes respectively;Nida emphasizes the surface structure while Larson focuses on the deep structure. It might be worthwhile to probe into how to combine the merits of the two modes with an aim to acquire the semantic and stylistic equivalence between the SL and the TL. Through analysing the features of vocabulary and sentence structure, the author suggests that it be necessary to have a basic understanding of the linguistic features in the translation of e-business English with an aim to translate faithfully, idiomatically and consistently. Based on Nida's theory of dynamic or functional equivalence, four information transmission modes in translation of e-business English are suggested, including correspondence, parallel, confliction and substitution;Founded on the theory of parallel structure, three types of expanded noun pre-modifiers(ENP) are presented, including graded progress, meaning section combination and parallel arrangement, either the information transmission modes or the types of ENP are of practical value in acquiring the semantic and stylistic equivalence in translation of e-business English.
