Abstract:Through investigating and analyzing the current status of extracurricular training of traditional track and field events in Shanghai municipal secondary schools, the author find that in terms of number, traditional track and field events are on the list of top three. However, the total number has decreased, and that of female athletes is even smaller. Besides, most of these athletes are in relatively low level. The number of unility player is also small. In this paper, the author intends to reveal the phenomena and features of current cultivation of reserved talents for schools of traditional sport events in Shanghai in order to help these schools play a role of guidance and demonstration in developing extracurricular training.
