Although the interpretive text of memorial halls falls into the category of external publicity texts,it has distinctive linguistic features.Thus,the translation should be approached with different strategies.Based on translation of the interpretive text of the exhibits in Wang Yirong Memorial,this study analyzes the linguistic features of the Chinese interpretive textswhichis a combination of colloquial introduction,professional terms,and sensational languages.It discusses the application of translating methods,including literal and free translation,addition and omission.Also,it focuses onterminology translation and the translating strategies.The studyis expected to provide positivereference for translation of interpretive texts of historical celebrity memorials.
