The present paper centers on the course offered by the School of Materials Science and Engineering in University of Shanghai for Science and Technology,introduces.It the course characteristics,and discusses the current situation and existing problems.The teaching ideology of “learner-oriented” is put forward in order to improve teaching quality and to cultivate talents.Apatrt from this,the paper puts forward a series of course reform and innovation steps from the perspectives of integrating course content,building up an excellent teaching team,improving teaching methods and strengthening the combination of theory and practice.The reform enhanced the teaching effect in that students could achieve more with less efforts.
