Translation played an indispensable part role in the whole process of news reporting about the so-called South China Sea Arbitration,so it is necessary to reflect on its dissatisfactory versions.From the perspective of pursuing truth in translation or translating the name of an institution in accordance to its real nature,it is not so hard to locate some insufficiencies in the relevant news reports.An analytical study shows that,the Chinese versions for "the Permanent Court of Arbitration","ruling","South China Sea","Scarborough Reef" and "Taiping Rock" are inappropriate.Such translation is very likely to cause misunderstandings and result in serious consequences.Therefore,the Sense of National Security must be cultivated in the translation of international news reports so as to avoid parroting others blindly or confusing one thing with another in translating,editing,and extracting news in order to emphasize the significance of political attributes.
