In the world of religious beliefs,there are lots of complicated relationships between love and religion,which we can vividly find in The Thorn Birds and The Jade King:History of a Chinese Muslim Family.Both of these two novels are great masterpieces full of exotic and national styles.The purpose of this thesis is to thoroughly analyze and compare the relation between religion and love,and then profoundly dissect the bondage and punishment of religion for love as well as the causes of tragedies in these two works under the influence of religious taboos,aiming at illustrating the negative impact of religion on people's love and life.
