A key feature of English for specific purposes(ESP) teaching is its learner-centered teaching model.Based on ten-year mechanical English teaching experiences,the author illustrates an ESP teaching model integrating English learning and domain knowledge accumulation,from three perspectives of content design,classroom focus and extracurricular homework.The paper aims at putting forward suggestions on ESP teaching methods,which involve linguistic variation in technical communication,classification of domain knowledge,perception-based knowledge representation,combination of teaching language and knowledge,and learners' online self-education,etc.
