The purpose of flipped classroom is to readjust the teaching process.The flipping of teaching theories,teaching roles,teaching forms,and teaching effects urges students to turn to autonomous learning,interactive learning and active learning,and meanwhile traditional knowledge transmission also transforms into internalization of knowledge.Flipped classroom in English teaching can enhance students' learning flexibility,creativity,and interaction,but it brings challenges to the course of English for academic purposes,such as the lack of timeliness,enthusiasm,and discernment of learning.All of these demerits need to be overcome and avoided,so that the flipped classroom can effectively be integrated and applied to speaking,listening,reading,writing,and designing of teaching material in English for academic purposes in order to achieve optimal teaching effects.
