Outcome-based education (OBE) has become an internationally-accepted ideology for education.To improve the teaching effectiveness of the course "Air Pollution Control Engineering (APCE)",an important specialized course for energy and power engineering majors,this work elaborated the method and strategy implementation for the course under the background of China's new engineering disciplines.It analyzed how to apply OBE-oriented education to the teaching contents and structure,process and scope,training and practice,as well as assessment system.Particularly,it focused on the process of training students' learning and practicing ability.The results may provide a positive reference for the OBE-oriented course teaching for APCE in other majors.
