Abstract:The study offers a CiteSpace-based systemic review on China Image studies during 2009-2019,based on data from domestic CNKI papers of core journals and qualified master and doctoral dissertations. It finds that most China Image research is limited to the fields of communication, literature and translation studies;most of the data do not include domestic political texts but largely are chosen from foreign media reports, foreign literary works and translated works, lacking internal and domestic perspectives of China Image research. Moreover, most research methods are qualitative, objective quantitative studies remain blank in this area. This paper claims that Corpus-based critical translation study provides a new research paradigm for verifying, correcting and broadening the current China Image research, and thus it has practical significance for realizing diplomacy with Chinese characteristics and promotion of China Image under the background of the Belt and Road initiative.
