International communication and cooperation among universities plays an important role in universities development and in improving the teaching quality.In recent years,the department of civil engineering of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology has been cooperating with the famous foreign universities,which lays the foundation for cultivating innovative talents with practical ability and broad visions.The article summarizes the exploration and practiceinto improving the teaching quality of civil engineering,analyzes the problems in international communication and cooperation,and proposes relevant countermeasures examples of exchange and cooperation with well-known foreign universities.
