The characteristics of prefabricated chunks determine their effective advantages in the process of interpretation.Based on the empirical study on English majors' chunk competence,the study attempts to employ prefabricated chunks as preferred means in interpretation teaching,in terms of improving the awareness of learning chunks,attaching importance to accumulating and absorbing chunks,establishing chunk database and strengthening the efficiency and quality of chunk application.The paper aims to improve the effectiveness of chunks in facilitating accuracy,fluency and idiomaticity of interpretation output,and promote the quality of interpretation teaching and students' interpreting competence.
