Abstract:As the carrier of culture and ideology, film works can effectively transmit all kinds of ideas. As the status of women continues to rise, feminism in the film has become more and more obvious. The Indian film Dangal,a hit in China, highlights feminism and wins wide acclaim. Some critics maintain that Mahavir, the father in the film, who ruthlessly forces his daughters to wrestle,is a clear demonstration of male domination.Through a discussion of the forms and theories of feminism, this paper analyzes the images of the two heroines Geeta and Babita in the film, and displays their feminism representations.Their perseverance in wrestling career is the result of their subjective choice and identification, and their father plays a role of an individualized guide rather than a decision-maker in a society marked by the supremacy of the father. This film, which authentically embodies feminism, will exert a profound impact on the women's liberation in India and even the whole world.
