The teaching purpose of ESP is to guide students to communicate in professional or workplace English.Besides such ESP teaching objectives as retrieval,analysis and use of specialized English,ESP translation teaching needs to be organized according to the needs of the translation industry.The paper illustrates the significance,essential features and essence of ESP translator training under the guidance of the translation service requirement T/TAC-2016.Specifically,this requirement is of great significance for clarifying ESP translator training tasks and translation competences,and the training course under the guidance of T/TAC-2016 is mainly characterized by multi-competence training goal,process-oriented operation,cooperative learning and client-centered translation quality assessment.Moreover,the essence of this training model is to emphasize two translation brief-oriented translating processes.
