The in-depth development of informatization has a profound impact on the translation industry.How a translator effectively obtains useful information from the massive information sources is critical to the quality of his translation service.Thus,information literacy and searching ability are of increasingly importance for translators.This paper focuses on knowledge search engine,a way of supplementing and extending search engine.The author compares the search engine with knowledge search engine,discussing its advantages over traditional search engines in thematic classification,one-stop knowledge searching,community question answering,personalized knowledge base and so on.The author also compares three major knowledge search engines in China,further stating enlightenment of knowledge search engine in translation practice.
