Elaborating the theory of intertextuality in the broad sense of Christine and in the narrow sense of Genet,this paper analyzes the works from the representative African American women writers:Hurston,Walker,Morrison and Naylor.It aims to reveal the tradition of their literary writing by scrutinizing the codes of the African culture and African American culture embedded in the novels,and by presenting the writing technique of rewriting the Bible from the novels.
