Comprehensively promoting moral and political education in universities is a key strategy for nurturing a virtuous younger generation in China.This article first elaborates the due reasons for integrating moral and political education into foreign language teaching in universities in three aspects:educational policy, nature of the foreign language discipline, and practical needs of foreign language education.It puts forward five measures for cultivating virtuous talents:1) creating an organizational supporting system of at the two levels of university and schools;2) implementing moral and political education as per differences in four types of foreign language courses;3) integrating moral and political education into the whole process of foreign language teaching;4) enhancing moral and political education competence on the part of foreign language teachers;5) improving the evaluation mechanism of moral and political education in foreign language teaching.
